@Billy Kingsley
It is clear that it was detrimental to the board for me to have this useless technical knowledge on what the tires were actually made out of, ultimately I should just keep my technicalities to myself next time.

I came across these in a box I had forgotten about. They are Racing Champions, I think the "Roaring Racers" .... one of them has the engine sound when the front tire is pressed down, and the other must have a dead battery in it. Not sure of the year they were put out. Just thought I'd share a couple pics of them.

Billy, I'm guessing you already have these in your collection, but if not and you would like them, let me know and they're yours.

Okay, cut it out please. Acting immature like that neither helps to enhance your reputation on here nor solves any problems. You can refer to them as "plastic" all you want, but the vast majority of collectors call them rubber.

@LaddyDongdegs
Your comment was over a month after mine. If you had a problem with what I said, then why didn't you say something then? Did you read the whole series of posts? I said that most tires people refer to as rubber are rubber, just not the tires in question. Most tires people refer to as rubber are indeed rubber; however, the tires on these cars we were discussing are made out of a plastic, so does it not make sense to call something made out of plastic-plastic and something made out of rubber-rubber. I do concede there are some instances when this does not hold true for example tin foil and aluminum foil are usually used synonymous with each other, but tin foil has been obsolete for around 75 years, modernly it is all aluminum, but people still refer to it as tin foil. Similarly, Aluminum cans are often referred to as tin cans even though they are made of Aluminum. All I know is the feelings between us are now mutual.

Michael, I will take you up on that, I don't have the Davey Allison car! The batteries in mine are mostly all dead now, too. My example of the 68, when you press it to make the tires go, will go on clicking and making noise for about 20 minutes, lol.

Sounds like all of mine. I had the Davey Allison pictured, Bill Elliott, Brett Bodine, and Dale Jarrett.

I love your guide!! Thanks for taking the time to post this.

This is where it all started for me, with that Sears 12 pack!! Thanks for flooding my memories. I still have all of them, but they are in bad shape.

... and for the record, I like that old body style of diecast.
